PLUS, trippy games you should play
Hi, everyone! Thanks for Dropping In with us on this fine Labor Day, a holiday that many of us mark as the end of summer. But Fall is still technically three weeks away. So soak up the fading rays of summer wherever you are and enjoy the stories weâve worked hard to push out into the world.
This week's featured story is an interview with Jon Hopkins, the Grammy-nominated producer who brought us Music For Psychedelic Therapy, about his newest album, Ritual. Itâs primal and Earthy, yet gentle around the edgesâand clearly produced from the psyche of someone whoâs spent time traversing altered states of consciousness. He told us the sound of this record was derived from daily ice plunges. So when we got our hands on a copy of Ritual, we headed straight to an ice bath, took a plunge for the first time with this album as the soundtrack, and basically entered a time warp.
You can read more about that experience and Jonâs creative process, vices, and how ice plunging influenced the sound of his record below! You can also find stories about athletesâ attitudes toward psychedelic-assisted therapies, the trippiest games made for Nintendo Switch, how Indigenous communities have worked with Kanna for eons, and so much more.
If you want to hang out with us, weâre hosting a workshop on Trip Sitting on September 8. Itâs free to attend, and we still have more spots available! You can find out more about it here.
Embrace these last weeks of summer đđŤś,

Jon Hopkins' New Album "Ritual" Is About Primal Embodiment
We caught up with Jon Hopkins about his creative process, vices, and how ice plunging influenced the primal sound of his new record.
In Ritual, Jon Hopkins takes listeners on a journey into primal embodiment, creating an album that's as much about feeling as it is about sound. In this interview with DoubleBlind, the Grammy-nominated producer reveals how daily ice plunges shaped the raw, driving energy of his latest work, offering a stark contrast to the ethereal soundscapes of his previous album, Music For Psychedelic Therapy.
Hopkins delves into his creative process, the influence of breathwork and meditation, and the delicate balance between cosmic inspiration and earthly grounding. Ritual is designed to be experienced in one continuous session, offering a unique, immersive escape from the world of pre-fab, algorithm-driven music.

Our Latest
A new study on athletesâ attitudes toward psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) finds that more than 6 in 10 would be willing to try treatment with psilocybin or other entheogens to aid recovery after a concussion or to help manage post-concussion symptoms. Among sports staff, more than 7 in 10 said theyâd support athletes using PAT.
Diplo has opened a new creative retreat in Jamaica called Pompey, set on 50 acres of lush farmland. This luxurious estate features an industry-standard recording studio, in-house chefs, and a heated infinity pool, along with a unique offering: on-demand cannabis and psilocybin mushrooms. While Jamaica has become a hub for psychedelic tourism due to a legal loophole, the retreat has sparked controversy for its "colonial" design and Diplo's legal issues.

Trip Tales
I took 25 grams of PE shrooms. They showed me how beings from other realities enter into our unconscious mind and retrieve memories out of our DNA from past lives in order to gather long forgotten rituals. These rituals conjure up certain types of thought forms and forces that they use to bring new life into their world. They revealed to me the secret of eternal life is in DNA memory. They revealed to me the many lives I've lived.
